About Us
About
At CatFox Press, we make books, art, and creative stationery for edge-walkers—dreamers, queers, neurodivergents, survivors, witches, skeptics, artists, soft punks, chaos gardeners, and anyone else living just outside the lines.
We publish stories with grit and heart. Journals that don’t assume you’re trying to optimize your life. Notebooks that make space for weirdness, emotional truth, grief, recovery, and joy.
We believe in fierce imagination and practical magic—the kind that shows up in your planner, your fiction, or your ritual. Whether you're processing a rough week, scribbling down spell ideas, or crafting your next speculative epic, we make the tools we wish we'd had.
CatFox Press is run by two queer artists who got tired of waiting for the publishing world to catch up. We built this for the weirdos like us—and maybe like you.
Our Mission
CatFox Press publishes books, art, and stationery that help people live better, queerer, weirder lives. Our work supports creative freedom, emotional truth, and diverse lived experiences—offering fierce, playful, and thoughtful resources for outsiders of all kinds.
We publish fiction that centers queer futures, grief alchemy, and genre-defiant storytelling. Our books are small in size but expansive in heart—edited with care and built to stay with you.
Our Vision
We envision a world where stories and tools from the margins reshape the center. Where the vulnerable is not erased, the weird is not smoothed out, and where people can find themselves in the books and objects they use every day.
What We Believe
What It Means to Us
Value
We center queer, trans, neurodivergent, and nonconforming voices—not for diversity checkboxes, but because that’s who we and our community are.
Radical Queerness
We reject white supremacy and racism it all its forms. Our work is not for Nazis.
Anti-Racism
We make journals that don’t assume you’re trying to become more productive. We publish fiction that respects your emotional intelligence. Weirdness is not a flaw—it’s the point.
Creativity Without Conformity
Emotional Truth-Telling
Our stories, planners, notebooks, and designs make space for grief, survival, joy, and real-life messiness—not just clean, aesthetic vibes.
We will stay small, weird, and human on purpose. We publish what we believe in—not what the algorithm rewards.
Independent & Anti-Corporate
We’re not here for mass appeal. We make things for people who’ve been overlooked, flattened, or filtered out. For you.
Community Over Commodification
We believe in the beauty of imperfection. We embrace our flaws, growth, and learning (and unlearning!) out loud. We believe in soul over polish, calling ourselves in before calling others out, and showing up authentically. We don’t pretend to have it all figured out—and we won’t shame anyone else for being in process.
But make no mistake: our work is crafted. Our books are rigorously edited. Our journals are thoughtfully designed. We don’t chase perfection, but we do pursue meaning, quality, and care in everything we make.
Perfectly Imperfect

Who We’re For
You don’t have to be a witch, or a writer, or an out-and-proud neuroqueer to read our stories or use our journals. But if you’ve ever:
Felt out of place in mainstream publishing because your voice or interests were “too queer,” “too political,” “too weird,” or “too much”
Wished your planner came with a trauma warning
Rolled your eyes at hustle culture and its pastel productivity cult
Needed a notebook that could hold grief, rage, softness, joy—or all of it—in a single messy page
Looked for books where queerness is centered, not explained, and healing doesn’t require a makeover arc
Wanted to wear something snarky, subversive, and deeply you—connecting you to likeminded weirdos out in the world, even if only fleetingly
Found solace in stories that are a little haunted, a little hopeful, and not afraid to break genre rules
Searched for stationery, stories, or ideas that felt like coming home to your own divergent, sharp, glorious self
Then we made this for you.
Our works are for the ones who live at the intersections—of magic and rage, logic and intuition, survival and reinvention. Our books are for those who carry trauma and tenderness in equal measure. Our work isn’t here to clean you up. It’s here to see you.
